The disappearance of NAV support has been announced by Microsoft for a long time for what was once one of its flagship programs: Microsoft Dynamics Navision.

Microsoft has always established the life cycle of its products and services, which determines how long support and maintenance lasts. Therefore, if you are still using any of the latest versions of NAV today, you know that your product has an expiration date.
Once the planned obsolescence is complete. It new updates, patches and functional improvements, as well as everything related to assisted technical support from Microsoft, are no longer received .

Different phases in NAV support
As you have seen in the table above, there are two different NAV support end dates. Standard and extended. This corresponds to the lifecycle policy that Microsoft establishes for its products.

It usually has a determined duration of 5 years from the market launch of the corresponding version of Microsoft Dynamics Navision. Throughout this period, Microsoft’s NAV support covers updates. Patches and improvements on legal changes that may occur. All customers with active maintenance service benefit from them.
➜ Extended technical support:
After the end of standard technical support and for another 5 years. Microsoft only offers patches on security issues. The rest of the modifications or changes of a legal aspect, become incorporated only through the network of Microsoft partners or through specific developments carried out by the user himself.
