I’ve always been captivated by Curious George, the monkey who used to dwell in my neighborhood when I was a kid. I adored that he was inquisitive and unafraid to explore new ideas or ask questions. He was also entertaining and funny. When I read about his exploits with his companion, the Man in the Yellow Hat, to myself or other people, I would always laugh out loud. It only seemed natural that I would be curious about Curious George’s death. How did Curious George die?
How Passed Away Curious George?
After having a heart attack, Curious George die while sleeping.
George had been experiencing symptoms of illness for a few weeks before receiving a diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition in which the heart muscle enlarges and weakens. His slow breathing and chronic weariness grew worse as a result, and one night, while resting next to his wife Rosie, he went away gently.
What Curious George Left Behind
Because he is a good buddy to everyone, Curious George makes for a wonderful character. He serves as an example of how to be a good friend and a decent person.
Our children and grandkids will carry on Curious George’s legacy by teaching them about the value of relationships and the power of compassion.
George, did you lead a good life?
To his friends, George was a devoted brother, son, and friend. Additionally, he was a fantastic friend to the monkey he was taking care of.
George resided in Africa both during and after colonial rule. There were many different species of animals there at the time, including lions and elephants.
We may easily presume that they would have attacked George given the presence of so many animals nearby. Even so, it seems unlikely that one of these creatures would have ever hurt him given how friendly they were all with people and how they typically don’t act viciously until provoked.
Did he pass away gently while sleeping?
In his bed, curious George passed away calmly while sleeping. His owner found him at home on November 23rd in the morning. An overdose of a prescription drug he was taking for an unidentified disease was the cause of his death.
Despite the fact that we don’t know much about Curious George’s early years or upbringing, we can assume that his family was loving and devoted to him.
Did he have a disease or an ailment?
He did, in fact. Even though he was well and content, he nevertheless occasionally fell ill. George suffered from a variety of ailments during his life.
An excessive amount of uric acid in the body causes gout, a painful and difficult condition that affects the joints. When it first manifested on George’s right foot at age 20 (see below), it was one of his most significant health issues. Later, it spread to both of his feet, giving him excruciating pain whenever he moved his flat feet, which wasn’t very often.
Dandruff, also referred to as seborrhea because it frequently causes red areas to form on top of your head where there are more flakes than elsewhere, is an unpleasant, itchy, and peeling skin condition that affects your scalp. The only thing that could be considered worse than having dandruff would be if both sides were covered in flaky scales.

The idea that Curious George died after falling out of a tree is one of the most popular ones. Some people think this is the case because it is consistent with the passage from his book that reads, “The next day when [Curious George] went back to sleep [after eating], he woke up again and found that he had fallen off into space.”

George is shot with a bow and arrow in the novel. Pongo, who is his companion in the movie, poisons him.
Someone else who felt threatened by his presence most likely shot or stabbed him in both instances. Although this may seem like an unlikely cause of death for George (and it is), it’s important to remember that there are a number of other scenarios in which someone could have passed away after being struck in the head with an arrow or shot with a gun. It could have been another person, an animal, or even something entirely different!

Harper & Brothers, which also published other children’s classics like The Velveteen Rabbit and Winnie-the-Pooh, published Curious George for the first time in print in 1941. Children all across the world fell in love with the series, and today you can find Curious George on the shelves of all your favourite toy stores.

George is on his deathbed at the conclusion of the novel. He’s been invited to say farewell to his friends and family. In addition to bidding farewell to the globe, he is also saying farewell to the people who have supported him throughout his life.
George expresses his desire to spend more time with each of these individuals who have played such a significant role in his life: “I would like another day or two left with each of you. I need at least one more minute (Curious George #1).
This is how I see George’s passing.
A happy and healthy dog, George. People who loved him cared for him, and stood by him were all around him. This made it possible for George to pass away peacefully in his sleep one night while he was on a bed and surrounded by members of his human family.
Conclusion
George was an adventurous little boy who was very curious. He had no fear, was compassionate, and was constantly considering how he could live better. The legacy of his story is still evident in children today who find inspiration in him and enjoy reading books like ours.
